Friday Harbor

Saturday morning we woke up early to catch the ferry over to the San Juan Islands! We headed to Friday Harbor to explore. We spent the whole day there. The kids were excited to be on a big boat and although it was too cold to stand outside for very long, we had some great views from the windows!

Waiting patiently to get on the ferry. We had to explain what a phone booth was and how it worked!

Our first stop in Friday Harbor was a Whale Museum. It was on the smaller side but we had fun and actually learned a few things about Orcas.

We plan to see lots of lighthouses this summer so this one was a fun stop after lunch at the Lime Kiln State Park. After a short hike down closer to the water we saw this lighthouse and did some whale watching from the shore. Unfortunately we did not see any whales but had fun climbing on the rocks anyway.

On Sunday we attended a local ward for church. One of the members there told us about a little hidden gem in Anacortes so we took a little drive. This little path took you out to a point where we could see out over the whole Anacortes valley. It was so pretty and we were happy he told us about it!
